Due to the power line that fell Saturday night, electrical repairs need to be made today, Wednesday, on Grove Ave. Grove Ave between Oakland & Dellwood will be closed Wednesday from 9am - 2pm and from 11pm - 7am Thursday. Please avoid the area during these time. We apologize for any inconvenience.


                          There will be overnight work by NJDOT's contractors at various locations on Rt.27 this week Tuesday - Friday nights between the hours of 9pm-5am. The crews will be resetting manholes and working on inlet drainage grates.

 


ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

There will be several road projects occurring this weekend and next week that will effect travel in Metuchen. Please be aware of the following:

  • Milling and paving of Woodmont Way, New St. and Pearl St. started on Tuesday 4/17/18 and will conclude by Saturday 4/21/18. Schedule could change due to weather. Expect delays, detours and roads closures during this time. Access to the parking deck will remain open.
  • There will be overnight construction at various locations on Rt.27 this week by NJDOT as part of the repaving project. Crews will be resetting man hole covers and drainage grates.

The Mayor will be hosting open office hours this week
at his office at Borough Hall on Wednesday, April 18
between 10am and noon. No appointment necessary.

Pedestrian Bridge
Following a Borough engineer’s inspection on 1/30/18, safety deficiencies were discovered at the Graham Avenue “Kahn’s Crossing” pedestrian bridge over the Greenway. As a result, the bridge is closed. Once all safety concerns are addressed, the Borough will reopen the bridge. Updates will be posted once more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

DEP Division of Fish and Wildlife says you should report bear damage, nuisance behavior or aggressive bears to their Wildlife Control Unit at (908) 735-8793. During evenings and weekends, residents should call the local police department or the DEP Hotline at 877-WARN-DEP (877927-6337).
Middlesex County Residential Cooking Oil Program (pdf)
