Parking Information

ParkMobile is now available for paying for parking in Metuchen, in addition to the ParkSmarter app.
With ParkMobile, you can pay for parking in several ways:
Mobile App – Download the ParkMobile app on your smartphone.
Web Browser – Pay directly through the ParkMobile website.
Text to Pay – Text "Park" to 77223 to receive a link to the payment site directly to your phone.
Call to Pay If you don’t have a smartphone, call a dedicated phone number and use the interactive voice response (IVR) system to pay.

ParkSmarter remains available as another convenient mobile payment option. Both platforms allow you to manage your parking sessions and extend time remotely.

On-street parking
On-street parking is available for up to 2 hours at a rate of $1.00/hour and can be paid by credit/debit card or by the ParkMobile App. Meters and the mobile payment apps accept American Express, Discover, VISA and Mastercard.

Free 15-Minute Parking
The Borough of Metuchen has implemented 15-minute parking spaces for quick pickup and drop-off throughout the downtown. These spaces are marked with a red 15-minute parking bag over the meter.

Parking Lots
Short term parking is available in the New St lot, Center St lot and Center St East lots. Payment can be made at the pay station or using the mobile payment apps. Daily parking is available at the Metuchen Train Station lots and only the mobile payment apps can be used to pay for parking in these lots.

Pearl Street Garage
The Pearl Street Garage is available for short- and long- term parking, as well as free parking for up to 3 hours on weekends! Learn more and download the NexPass App.

Permit Parking Lots

New Parking Lot permit applications can be submitted for the following parking lots:

  • Pennsylvania Avenue
  • South Main Street
  • Memorial Parkway
  • West Amboy

Currently the other parking lots are at capacity and we are not taking new permit applications in those parking lots.
