Donated $1500 to Metuchen High School’s Project Graduation, the drug and alcohol-free, overnight celebration for graduates on graduation night. In addition, purchased clear plastic drawstring backpacks (placed informational cards inside) for the event (June 2025).
Sponsored one section of “Forest Friends”, a six-week SEL prevention program for kindergarten campers that focuses on good decision-making at the Metuchen YMCA (July and August 2025).
Sponsored one section of “Footprints for Life,” a six-week SEL prevention program for first graders at the Metuchen YMCA (July and August 2025).
Hosted an information table at National Night Out. Also provided $300 towards Italian ice for all attendees (August 2, 2025).
Brought the community together for Overdose Awareness Day with a vigil to remember those who died of an overdose and to support their families and loved ones, as well as those who presently fight addiction or live in recovery (August 28, 2025).
Sponsored a billboard to launch the educational campaign “Narcan Saves Lives,” and wrote “messages from CARES” concerning Narcan on the Borough’s Facebook page, linking to information from the CDC, SAMSHA, and the Sate of NJ. Purchased refrigerator magnets with the image of the billboard, with a link from the CDC to distribute to the community (September through December 2025).
Hosted two Narcan workshops at Metuchen High School (one for students and one for staff) demonstrating how to use Narcan, as well as why and when. Distributed Narcan Nasal Spray to participants (October 2025).
Hosted a table at the First Presbyterian Church’s health fair (October 2, 2025).
Hosted the Community Organizations Table at the Manasquan Bank on Main Street -Metuchen for the month. Among other materials, distributed information on implications of legalized marijuana (e. g. marijuana and pregnancy) from the NJ Department of Health (November 2025).
